The wait is FINALLY over! Episode 8 of the returning Downstairs Theater is LIVE! In this very special, 50 minute episode, the entire cast and crew of Downstairs Theater (Joe, Louis, Jen, Jess, Lance and Benny) travel to the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington to cover the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX '06)! We were unprepared for the low lighting conditions in the exhibit hall, and unfortunately had to "fix" some of the lighting via software. We hope the content will make up for the footage. Downstairs Theater Project - DAZ | Studio Video 2

In part 2 of our project, we'll show how to use content from various websites such as renderosity.com, aerysoul.com, and others in Daz Studio. This video assumes only that you know as much as you learned in the first project, and that you have some basic knowledge of using folders and file structures. At the end of this video, you'll know how to import hair, props, clothing, characters, lights, and other items into DAZ|Studio. In addition, some time is spent showing how to tweak some items to have them work properly, as well as going over how morph targets are used for such things as styling hair or 'fitting' clothing.

Downstairs Theater Project - DAZ | Studio Video 1

To help us focus shows on topics which requires more than short segments, we are officially launching the "Project Videos" section of Downstairs Theater. These videos are meant to focus on one topic, and act as a "special" version of our show. For the first installment, we show how to create a simple 3D background using a tool called DAZ | Studio. For those who have used or heard of Poser...Daz | Studio is a similar free tool available on the net. This tool is incredibly powerful, and allows for some amazing images to be generated in a short period of time. This first project video goes through everything from introducing the UI to the final lighting and rendering of a figure...in about 15 minutes!
